Juan Pablo Trad Hasbun
Juan Pablo Trad Hasbun was born in 1978 in Mexico City. He worked in various orchestra and chamber music groups as tutti and solo bassist and played in different parts if the world like Germany, Holland, China, USA, France, Spain and Austria. He also premiered works for solo-doublebass , chamber orchestra and Music Theater, in different venues such and Festivals such as Wiener Fest-Woche, Steirisches Herbst, Impuls Academy, Usafe+Sounds Festival and Strom Musik to name a few.
At 22 he received his first doublebass lessons with Marco Antonio Quiñones. From 2001 to 2005 he completed his double bass studies at the Mannes College of Music in New York City with Marji Danilow. From 2007 to 2010 he continued his doublebass studies at University of Music and Dramatic Arts Graz with Prof. Petru Iuga.
From 2009-2013 he coursed his Bachelors studies in composition at the University of Performing Arts in Graz with Prof. Gerd Kühr and Pierluigi Billone. He continues his Masters degree with Alexander Stankowsky at the same University. He has attended several compositions Master classes by Minas Borboudakis, Georges Aperghis, German Toro-Perez, Raphaël Cendo, Francesco Filidei, Philippe Leoux and Jorge Sanchez-Chiong.
His compositions were performed and premiered mostly in Europe and in Mexico, like im 21er Haus in Vienna, ESC labor in Graz and in Deutsches Museum in Munich and Escuela Nacional de Música in Mexico. In several occasions he conducted and performed some of his compositions. He also collaborated as composer and performer with artist and members of the Art Studio “Schaumbad” at the opening event in 2013 and in the Steirisches Herbst in 2014.
Since 2012 he hosts and created „Zwischen Klaenge“ (Between sounds); radio broadcast focused on the diffusion of modern music in various genres (Clasical, Jazz, Folk, Rock etc) focused to general audiences in Radio Helsinki, Graz. He also organized concerts for contemporary music at the ESC labor in Graz.
