Antonio Jiménez-Marín
Spanish trombonist Antonio Jiménez-Marín is a freelancer based in Basel, Switzerland, where he studies with Professor Mike Svoboda.
Antonio studied at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música “Victoria Eugenia” de Granada, and at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Glasgow; in 2013 he completed his masters and was awarded the Head of Brass Prize by Professor John Wallace CBE. In 2013/14 he attended the IEMA programme in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and during the 2014/15 season he had the opportunity to work in Spain as 2nd Trombone with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada. His principal teachers include Simon Johnson, Celestino Luna, John Kenny, and Uwe Dierksen.
Antonio regularly performs in festivals and concert halls all over Europe and plays with numerous chamber music groups and orchestras, participating in world premières of solo and ensemble pieces. In the 2015/16 season he will be appearing as guest 1st Trombone in a series of projects with Klangforum Wien, with concerts in Vienna and abroad.
Antonio is the founder of Luque – International Festival – in Spain, and he curates its Holiday Courses for New Music.
